Starfish Malawi

In February we held our first 'Malawi Day'.  This was the launch day of our partnership with Kaputu Primary School in Malawi.

Throughout the day the children followed a range of activities. Russet Class listened to a traditional Malawian story.  They used the moral of the story of 'working together' to help them work collaboratively and problem solve how to cross the playground using planks and blocks only.

Pippin Class made fact files and in the afternoon they made Malawian cookies using fair-trade ingredients.

Bramley and Discovery Classes followed a carousel of activities including drama through traditional stories, drumming, map work and investigations on the geography of Lake Malawi.

On a separate day, the whole school took part in African mask painting.  It was a very enjoyable day and was interesting to see the amazing designs the children created.  The masks are currently displayed in the welcome area at school.

Learning as we grow. Growing as we learn. Rooted in Jesus.
