Admissions

Children can join the school in any year group.  The process however is different for Year R compared to Years 1-6.  If your child is due to start school in Reception in the forthcoming September, applications have to be made via Kent.gov.uk and the closing date is the middle of January.  Parents are informed of the allocated school in April.  Applications for September 2027 open on Friday 6th November 2026 and close on Friday 15th January 2027.

For any other year group, an in-year application form should be downloaded from the Kent.gov.uk website.

You are very welcome to visit our school.  This year's open days will be held on Tuesday 10th November at 9.30am and Tuesday 17th November at 1.30pm.  Please email the school office on office@collier-street.kent.sch.uk to book a place.

If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2027, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Friday, 16 April 2027).  You need to submit your appeal before Monday 17th May 2027 for it to be considered by Monday 19th July 2027.  Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

 For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education
